A series of photography that are meant to explore feelings, fashion and nostalgia of Japanese working women living in the city in the late 80s. The mood of the campaign was inspired and reimagined by ‘city pop’— a sub-genre of pop that emerged in Japan’s phase of booming economic and technological advancement.Computers (and mobile phones) have wedged themselves into every facet of our lives - they are what we would use as the symbolic representation of the modern world. The existent of internet have made accessing the past from future is possible through visual and music, indirectly. Such connection has tweaked the photographer’s mind to explore the past; fantasising on how this retro-futuristic music became an emotional escape for these optimistic yet overworked class of people.
