Shoe Drive

This year, we collaborated with Kloth Cares for a shoe recycling program, Future Steps which aims to create a more positive social impact and reduce the number of shoes in landfills.

Since the start of the program, we have received many pairs of gently-worn shoes donated by you. We are so grateful to you guys for joining us in this initiative.

In light of the recent flooding and with Future Steps, we were able to sort, refurbish and donate them to the victims affected.

Why a shoe drive?

Just like clothes, shoes are essential in protecting us from the climate and environment. Walking barefoot would only leave us vulnerable, causing scrapes, cuts, foot illnesses and infections.

We're organising a Shoe Drive to increase our efforts in helping those who are affected by the recent flood - especially adults that are required to return to work. If you have any new, unworn or even gently-worn shoes (in pairs) that you’re no longer wearing, you may donate them to us where the shoes would be assessed and refurbished before being donated.

If you'd like to donate, here's what you can do.

STEP 1

Pack your shoes in a bag or box with a printed or hand-written note of your name and email address.

STEP 2

We hope that you can donate new, unworn or gently-worn shoes that you are comfortable parting with.

Please include your name and email in/on the packaging and mail or drop the shoes to the following address:

Nelissa Hilman (Shoe Drive)

D-02-07 Oasis Square, Ara Damansara

47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

017-9093050

(Our studio is open Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, except for public holidays)

OR

Drop them off at our store in Bangsar Village II — ideally, while you're running other errands to reduce your environmental impact.

We are looking to partner with local NGOs to better distribute the shoes to respective communities. If you’re an NGO or know anyone interested to be part of our initiative, please reach out to us at shoedrive@nelissahilman.com.
